Bringing Joy to the Present by Reparenting Past Hurts
Join our circle of support to explore how we may heal some early hurts that make it hard for us to respond to certain occurrences in our lives as the confident, wise women we are today. Those times where you walk away thinking “Oh boy, I didn’t mean to say THAT!” or when you don’t say anything at all and wish you had, can put a damper on our innate joyful natures. Celebrate your inner Mom, by reparenting your inner child. Let’s open our spirits to the vast possibilities of growth as we open our eyes to the blossoming all around us this glorious May.
If you wish, bring something that reminds you of that precious youngster to place on the central table during our group time. Or just bring your own sweet selves.

W
orld-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, in decades of research on achievement and success, has discovered a truly groundbreaking idea-the power of our mindset. Dweck explains why it’s not just our abilities and talent that bring us success-but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. She makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn’t foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment, but may actually jeopardize success. With the right mindset, we can motivate our kids and help them to raise their grades, as well as reach our own goals-personal and professional. Dweck reveals what all great parents, teachers, CEOs, and athletes already know: how a simple idea about the brain can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area.

Superwoman Syndrome
March 15, 2012 at 2:21 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a commentMarch Spiritual Circle II led by Christine Moyer
What a fabulous night we spent sinking our teeth into Superwoman Syndrome! All the women agreed that at one time or another in their busy lives they had experienced trying to be a Superwoman and that it can be draining, stressful, and a plain old drag. We learned why being a Superwoman can be an impossible task, threaten our health, and cause so much stress. However, not to be dragged down by the weight of this issue, we were able to lighten up with a little humor disguised as a candle ceremony. As we wrapped up our event, each woman read a beautiful quote to the woman on their left, looking at them, and passing on the positive thoughts. Though some of us came in dragging our capes through the door, we all left lighter and flew up, up, and away. Thank you Christine!
A new attendee had this to say: The information and discussion on Superwoman Syndrome at the Women’s Center for Wholeness was both informative and motivational. The woman presenting included everyone in the sharing of the information which was done with importance and humor. It was my first time attending and the other women were all very welcoming. I’m glad I went, it was a GREAT experience.

Nine women gathered Tuesday last to celebrate the increasing light. We had fun sharing about inspiration and illumination in our lives and creating a simple woven goddess eye. We sang and laughed and honoured each other. I had a great time leading this circle and am looking forward to attending next month. First Tuesday, March 6 – Mark your calendars. We will be led by Peer Leader Christine Moyer. More information to come.

SPIRITUAL CIRCLE II
November 4, 2011 at 1:11 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment
It’s Fall in New England which means Harvest Festivals, Trick or Treating, and giving thanks for all our abundance. Jane and Cathy took these ideas and wrapped them around an interesting Spiritual Circle theme based on the Celtic Wheel season of Samhain. This is the time of year when nature goes within. For ancient Celtic people it was the beginning of the New Year when they would burn huge bonfires to burn away the images of the old year. As with nature, Jane and Cathy spoke about how we could use this time of year to become introspective. We also spoke about our own cultural and Spiritual traditions surrounding this time of year.
